Florida Highway Patrol Demonstration 11-18-2008

Drive Around Safe and Sound Program in Havana

The Florida Highway Patrol put on a demonstration with a car during the simulated rollover to explain to the children and parents how important seatbelts are in saving lives. Master Anne Radke with Alpha UPKUDO and Lisa Roddenberry with A Better Body sponsored the event at the Havana karate school Tuesday afternoon.
Captain Mike Burroughs, and Trooper Chuck Cook explained what happens when children and adults do not wear their seatbelts and get into an accident. In addition they brought the DUI goggles and showed how impaired drunk drivers are. Attendees from Tallahassee, and the Gadsden County area were not only educated, but walked away with a bag full of goodies compliments of Kim Jones, Traffic Safety Public Education Coordinator with the Division of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
